Glass House

Firstly, a disclaimer, I’m not an expert on running, however….today at the gym I saw something that seemed wrong.

One of the ladies had the speed on the treadmill set really fast and she would periodically grab the front of the treadmill or the handrails to kinda keep up with her feet. Even with my lack of expertise this seemed wrong, dangerous, and I thought, shouldn’t she reduce the speed and concentrate on her form? And then I thought….she should take a lesson…and then I thought…glass house!

I have a lovely Daisy Rock guitar that I’ll pick up and pretend to play, I have to pretend because I haven’t bothered to take a lesson. I decided to make earrings without taking a class (so it takes forever and I constantly burn or cut my fingers – that’s why they are a million dollars each if you want to buy some), I broke the brand new dog collar because I was too clever to read the instructions (secretly I’m glad it broke, I didn’t really want to zap her, not even when she is naughty).

What would happen if we stopped and really considered what it would take to be successful at something before trying it? Would we bother to try it? Maybe not….

I’ve changed my mind…

Jump on that treadmill and crank it! You can take a lesson anytime.

Second disclaimer, the treadmill is a metaphor for life, don’t crank the real treadmill.
