Inadvertently Waiting

It’s my birthday today.

Thank you, thank you…it’s true, I don’t look a day over ..(cough cough),

My secret? Glad you asked, no smoking, no kids and lots of red wine (wink).

A friend asked me this morning, “what are you looking for this year?” and I couldn’t answer. I know the feeling I want my life to have, what energy I want to surround myself with, the type of memories I want to create,  but to describe it isn’t that easy.

I’m blessed right now with no employment obligations (yes, that’s what I’m going to start saying when asked “what do you do”), which means I have almost complete control over my life journey, and I’m busy!

But can I connect my ‘busyness’ to what I’m looking for this year?

We just watched the first episode of Picard, and Jean-Luc says “I haven’t been living. I’ve been waiting to die.

Don’t panic…..

I’m definitely still too young to be just waiting to die but it did strike me that without having a purpose, a plan, without knowing what we are looking for…we are inadvertently just waiting.  Maybe not waiting to die, maybe just waiting for inspiration, waiting to hear the wind whisper our true calling,

Second thought, maybe the purpose doesn’t have to be earth-shattering? Maybe the plan could be to enjoy what is now; to count our blessings, to just BE and be joyful.

So, yes. I do know what I’m looking for this year.

  1. I love this so much. Very insightful to yourself and your own happiness. Having a vision is not an easy thing for most of us, but after reading this, I have no doubt you’ll figure yours out and have happiness the entire way.
