Maryanne posed some excellent questions:
- What is your work-out routine?
My routine is a mis-mash of mixed cardio, high intensity training, yoga, and pilates. I sometimes do the treadmill after a class or do two classes. And I walk, on average my husband and I walk 5-6 km a day, it’s a habit created when we had Larsson and Zoey and helps us remember them.
2. What was the most breath-taking natural phenomena you’ve ever seen?
While at our cabin I saw a shooting star break apart as it hit our atmosphere, I looked up at exactly the right time and it was amazing. In fact it was so amazing that I was inspired to get a shooting star tattoo.
3. Do you have pets?
Of the years many of you ‘met’ Larsson and Zoey via my blog posts, Larsson was our first pup. Prior to Zoey, we had beautiful Abbey (Golden Retriever), and Ginger (Calico Cat). They were all wonderful and are very missed.
4. What’s the best April Fool’s joke someone pulled on you?
I don’t think this has ever happened to me. Although we do have friends who secretly got married on April Fools day and when they texted after the ceremony many of us were unsure it if was true or an April Fools. It was true and it was perfect.
5. What celebrity/musician death hit you the hardest?
Elvis… I was 11 and in England and my parents were at the village pub so my cousin was babysitting, when it was announced on the radio in the pub my parents came right home to check on me.
David Bowie and Leonard Cohen were also quite impactful.
6. Do you believe in the afterlife?
I believe that our energy dissipates when we die and is absorbed by other living things. But I also like the idea that there is somewhere clear and clean and wild where I will be reunited with my pets and loved ones one day.
7. Do you keep diaries?
I don’t keep a ‘dear diary‘ diary, but when we travelled in 2023 I did keep notes of where we went and the lovely people we met.
8. What’s your favourite movie from the 1980s?
I had to look up which movies came out in the 80’s lol… I remember watching Lost Boys more than once, and Labyrinth, and Spinal Tap – such a great movie.
9. What’s your favourite natural healing method?
Fresh Air!!!! go outside! Yes I’m yelling… fresh air is the best cure for what ails you. Even if it’s not sunny or warm, getting outside and breathing and listening is such a great way to alleviate feelings of malaise or dissatisfaction. If you are unable to leave your bed or couch just open a window and let the air in.

I think walking and pilates is a pretty good combination.
I’ll reply selectively as I skip the questions for which I don’t have a ready answer.
What is your favourite place in your hometown? – I don’t know if there’s a single one, but I could narrow it down to two – a play park and a path by the lake. Both evoke a lot of memories, are very calming, but also filled with interesting people living their lives.
Would you move to another country for love? – I love to travel and am able to acclimate easier than most, so absolutely. (Thought I believe I already found love.)
Have you ever re-gifted a present and been caught? – I’m not into random regifting, so no.
What is your favourite article of clothing? – pants?
Do you dream in colour? – Hmmm… what a peculiar question. I never thought of it… I think I dream in color, but will have to try to remember next time.
Camping or 5-Star Luxury Resort? – there’s a time and a place for everything. Camping is fun, but a luxury resort enables you to really get pampered.
Clowns: yes or NO? – since ‘no’ is capitalized does that mean that you’re not a fan of clowns? I really have no problem with them and am not sure why so many others do.
